Port Blair, Mar 28: The PCC President Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma and all leaders have greeted the islanders on the occasion of Ugadi and Vasant Navaratri. Ugadi marks the first day of the new year for the people of Andhra Pradesh. This day is also celebrated as “Gudi Padwa” by the people of Maharashtra. Ugadi is believed to be the day when Brahma – the Creator, in the Hindu mythology formed the universe. It’s also the time when winter is on its way out, and spring’s round the corner, so the concept of new life and a new year is really very appropriate for Ugadi festival. Shri Kuldeep has wished all the islanders joy, happiness, good health and overall prosperity on the auspicious occasion Ugadi & Navaratri and wished them strength and courage to protect the weaker sections and fight against social evils of the society.
