Port Blair, Mar 28: The Executive Committee meeting of the South Andaman Teachers’ Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association held on 25.03.2017 at Crusade House expressed serious concern over the undue delay in Confirmation of teachers, Promotion of various categories of teachers and timely grant of MACP.
Several other issues which include regularization of ad-hoc services, B.Ed. facility to qualified PSTs including reservation of atleast 10 seats in TGCE B.Ed. college for in-service teachers, allowing teachers to pursue higher education through correspondence without any restriction etc. were also discussed in the meeting.
The meeting also unanimously decided to resort to agitational programme if the Department fails to initiate concrete steps to settle the issues in a time bound manner. The meeting was addressed by Shri RD Yadav, Vice President & Shri S.L.Vinjit, Secretary of the branch and Shri T.S.Sreekumar, General Secretary of the Association alongwith other leaders.
