Port Blair, Mar 22: “Water Conservation Day” was celebrated by NCC Cadets by conducting a rally from JNRM college to Mahatma Gandhi circle, Aberdeen Bazaar on 22 Mar 17.
The cadets educated the locals about the importance of “water conservation” and also asked them to make their family members & neighbours aware of the cause. Various banners like “Jal hai to hi kal Hai”, “Jal hi Jeevan hai” etc. ware carried to make one & all aware about the importance of water in our lives.
The cadets also asked the locals to make small changes like closing of water tap while brushing/shaving etc in their daily habits to conserve water. People were also told the importance of rain water harvesting. A sincere appeal was made by the cadets to all “please conserve our natural resources, so that we give a better world to the future generations”.
