Port Blair, Mar 21: Smti Stuti Kakkar, Chairperson National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has appreciated the lively participation and insightful contribution of Smti Rubina Siddiqui, Member, UTCPCR in the orientation workshop for SCPCR Chairpersons and members held in Mumbai and Gurgaon.
In an appreciation letter, the Chairperson has notably highlighted the valuable and thoughtful suggestion by Rubina Siddiqui of celebrating 20th November as International Child Rights Day throughout the country by all State Commissions uniformly.
Based on the suggestion, the week from 14thNovember 2016 was celebrated as Child Rights Week with various programmes throughout the country.
The Chairperson citing her enthusiasm and deep insight into child issues in the country stated that she is an invaluable asset for the commission and wished her to perform with zeal and vigour in fulfilling the mandate of the commission in the future too.
