Port Blair, Mar 17: The Wandoor Range Office today seized huge quantity of Crab from some fishermen at Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park while patrolling.
As per reports, the fishermen entered inside the Forest Reserve area and were extracting Crabs from the Creek side Mangroves illegally.
When the Forest Patrolling team asked them about the license and other documents of fishing in the reserved area they were unable to produce any such documents after which the patrolling team arrested them for illegally extracting Crabs.
It is learnt that all the fishermen have been sent to 8 days of remand. However it is yet not known the exact quantity seized and the number of fishermen involved in the illegal activity.
