Diglipur, Mar 17: To raise the skill level and open livelihood opportunities the ministry of Textiles, Development commission of Handicrafts in association with Department of Industries, A & N Administration a month long training programme organized at Nabagram Gram Panchayat, Diglipur. The concluding program was held today on 16 March. Asst Commissioner, Diglipur Shri Awanish Kumar, IAS was Chief Guest on this occasion. Appraising the organizers and trainees he said that skill development training camps in rural areas is necessary besides provision for financial support to the trainees.
He thanked Dept of Industries for providing such a wonderful opportunity to the villagers by organizing the training programme. He emphasized upon creating marketing opportunity for the finished products in the Islands and mainland. Earlier Mr. Diptanshu Haldar, Senior Asst Director, Development Commission, Handicraft addressing the gathering said that Dept of Industries is offering various schemes to the artisans to expose their products in the Islands and mainland India. Interested artisans will be given financial assistance through various schemes by the Industries Department. Later certificates were awarded to the successful completion of the training programme by the Chief Guest. Pramukh Diglipur, up- Adhyaksh, pradhan and other PRI members were present on this occasion.
