Port Blair, Mar 16: A case of theft of gold necklace weighing 16 gms worth Rs. 50,000/- (approx) was reported at PS Ograbraj on 03.03.17 and the case has been worked out within 24 hours by the efforts team of PS Ograbraj leading to the arrest of accused person and recovery of stolen gold ornament on 04.03.17.
On receipt of report at PS Ograbraj from Smt. Anita Mondal (36) yrs House wife, W/o Shri Niranjan Mondal R/o Hathi Tapu Namunaghar regarding theft of 01 No. gold Necklace weight 16 grms worth Rs 50,000/- (approx) from her house by some unknown person, a case of theft vide crime No 16/17 dated 03/03/17 U/s 380 IPC was registered at PS Ograbraj. A team comprising of investigating Officer SI Randhir Singh alongwith PC/1533 Apurba Biswas, under the supervision of Insp. Rizwan Hassan, SHO PS Ograbraj swung into action to conduct search for the accused and the stolen property and finally one Parimal Mondal (32) yrs R/o School Line was arrested on 04/03/17 from 01 No gold necklace has been recovered by the Police team. Thereafter, the accused person was produced before the Hon’ble Court of CJM, Port Blair from where he was remanded to judicial custody.
The arrest of accused and recovery of stolen property in the instant case could have been made only due to sincere and concerted efforts made by the team under the overall supervision of Shri M.A. Naushad, SDPO (Bambooflat). The public is requested to share information with Police in full confidence so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice and may pass such information to nearest Police Station or PCR.
