Port Blair, June 14: An Oil Tanker of Jadwet Trading Company turned turtle yesterday at Port Mout area.
According to details available here the driver of the Oil Tanker failed to negotiate with a turning, near Mr. Abu Baker’s (Ranger) house, which resulted in the accident.
The Oil Tanker was loaded with nearly 8,000 ltrs of oil which drained out of the tanker.
According to eye witnesses, the driver of the oil tanker reportedly suffered some injuries.
Surprisingly, instead of helping to control the situation, many people living in the area rushed to the spot with buckets and other containers to collect petrol. However they were later driven away by police jawans.
Eye witnesses confirmed that, two fire tenders also reached the spot as a precautionary measure.
