
Port Blair, Mar 06: In order to encourage and boost the morale of Police personnel of A&N Police including Fire Service, Police Marine Force, Police Radio Organization and India Reserve Battalion (IRBn), the Police department has introduced “DGP’S INSIGNIA for Excellence”
On the occasion of Bada Khana at Police Lines organized as a part of Police Raising Day on 03.03.2017 72 Police personnel of various units of A&N Police including GOs have been presented with DGP’s Insignia-2017 for their excellence in police service.
“DGP’s Insignia” will be awarded only once during his or her service time for excellence in any of the following field for doing outstanding good work such as the recapture of an escaped prisoner, the arrest of a wanted criminal; Exceptional devotion towards duties and overall performance; For exemplary courage or bravery in discharging of duties; For excellence in investigation requiring extra-ordinary skill and showing exemplary performance in sports activities while representing Andaman & Nicobar Police Department at National or International level.
Initiation of such an award will go a long way in boosting the morale of the awardees and goad them to perform even better. It will also serve as an incentive for the police personnel to excel in their field of duties.
Community policing initiative by of N&MA District Police
Port Blair, Mar 06: As an initiative of the Swachha Bharat Mission and Community Policing, the A&N Police in association with the Lions Club, Rangat, Middle Andaman jointly constructed a Public Convenience i.e. 06 blocks (03 each for male & female) within the premises of JPP Parlobjig No.15 under the jurisdiction of PS Kadamtala.
The Public Convenience has been inaugurated on 01.03.17 by the District Governor, Lions Club Ln. T.M. Gunaraja, in a function in the presence of Shri George Lalu, SDPO, Rangat, SHO Rangat, SHO Kadamtala and other members of Lions Club from Mainland as well as the President and members of Lions Club Rangat. On this occasion Shri. SukhlalMondal, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Kadamtala also remained present and assured to supply cleansing materials for the toilet block from the Gram Panchayat.
After inauguration of the Public Convenience, it was dedicated to public which would be a great relief for the commuters (4500 approximately) being passed through the Check Post everyday by Passenger Buses and other vehicles. This joint effort has been widely appreciated by the public.
