Port Blair, Mar 03: The Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police, Mohammed Umar and his Driver, a Police Jawan miraculously escaped an accident that took place, this evening at around 06:45 pm at Seashore Road near Hotel NK International.
As per reports, DySP Traffic, Mohammed Umar has suffered minor injuries in his knees and the Police Driver also suffered some injuries.
As per reports, the Gypsy of DySP Traffic was on the way towards Chatham and the load truck was coming from Haddo and was going towards Marine.
Sources said that the driver of the loaded truck couldn’t negotiate properly while giving side to the Gypsy of the DySP Traffic which resulted in this accident.
Sources said that the driver has said in his statement that lights from vehicles coming from opposite direction blinded him for some seconds because of which he could not negotiate with the Gypsy of DySP traffic.
Police later found that the driver of the Truck was not under influence of liquor but the truck was at a high speed.
Accidents in Port Blair city has become very common now a days and the million dollar question here is that if the DySP Traffic is not safe in Andaman road, who a common man will feel himself safe. (Pics Courtesy: Diglital Andaman)
