
Port Blair, Mar 01: Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament while on tour to Delhi met Mr. Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport & Highways in his chamber on 28.02.2017 and conveyed heartfelt gratitude to him for awarding various works of National Highways-223 by NHIDCL to M/s Mostobudivelny Zahin & M/S RDS Andaman (joint venture) for construction of Humphrey Strait Bridge(Uttara & Gandhighat) within the 129.420 KM stretch and 130.600 KM stretch of NH-223.
The work order for undertaking the construction work bridge has been issued to M/s RDS Andaman on 15th February, 2017 as being a lowest bidder. The construction cost of the Bridge was estimated to Rs: 217.00 Crores and the work have been awarded at total cost of Rs: 203.00Crores.Thus saving of Rs:-14.00 Crores.
Mr. Ray, M.P. has once again extended the heartfelt thanks to the Minister of Road Transport & Highways for awarding the work for up-gradation/construction of National Highways-223 for the stretch of 12.0KM to 21.0 KM( length of 9.00 kilometer road between Beodnabad and Teylrabad ) and the stretch of 28.00Km to 45.00Km ( length of 17 kilometer road between Lall Pahad & Ferrar Gunj) both total 26.00 kilometer road to M/s DRA Infracon as being the lowest bidder amongst others at a total cost of 124.00 crors. This is less than the estimated cost of Rs: 137.00 crores. Here also saving of fund of Rs: 13.00 crores.
It has been told to M.P that the work for up-gradation of part portion of NH-223 for the stretch of 21.00 Km to 28.00 Km (length of 7.00 kilometer road between Taylrabad and Lall Pahad) is delayed for want of CRZ clearance.
However the tender for up-gradation/ construction part portion of the NH-223 for the stretch of 242.00 KM to 298.00 KM has already been floated and assured to award the work to the lowest bidder as soon as the tenders are opened.
Further on request of Mr. Ray, M.P. of Andaman, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of RT&H has given his consent to visit Andaman for foundation stone laying ceremony between 15th March and 15th April, 2017.
