Port Blair, Feb 26: The Officiating Chairperson, Smt. Kiran Tigga and Member of the Commission Smt. Rubina Siddiqui had visited Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair to assess the facilities available at the airport premises for passengers travelling to and fro the Andaman and Nicobar Islands especially children and the nursing mothers. The Commission has suggested for providing of a bed to the nursing mothers and other playing materials in order to provide a congenial environment for the children and for making the room more colorful and visually stimulating. Recommendations were sent to the Airport authorities to facilitate the arrangement at the earliest for benefit of children. The Commission has now received compliance report for the suggestions. The nursing room is now equipped with a cot, floor carpet and toys for children. It has now been made child friendly after the recommendation of the A&N UTCPCR.
