Port Blair, June 13: Highlighting the problems faced by student community of these Islands while commuting on buses from their homes to the educational institutions, the President of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has urged the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands to reintroduce the system of Bus Pass for the students wherein their public transport travel expenses is reimbursed by the Administration.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, He further stated that earlier a scheme was in implementation where in students were provided bus passes for their daily commute which was later discontinued causing a lot of problems for the student community and is taxing on the students especially of low income group parents.
Mr. Sharma stated that in addition to providing relief to poor background students would also help in enhancing the daily attendance of students at educational institutions of these Islands.
