Port Blair, Feb 22: The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kadamtala Branch held its Annual General Body meeting at Kadamtala on 20.02.2017. Shri T.S.Sreekumar, General Secretary and Shri R.Rajendran, Asst. General Secretary of the Association addressed the meeting and informed about the recent developments after implementation of 7th Central Pay Commission and delay in granting of allowances at enhanced rate.
Shri P.L.Paik, a senior leader of the Association who chaired the meeting also spoke on the occasion and briefed the members on the Association’s past and historical struggles made by the leaders of the Association.
The meeting revived the committee by electing new office bearers and executive members. Shri Asim Kumar Dass, Shri K.L.Howalder, Shri BD Paramanick and Shri Sujit Gharami were elected as Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary & Treasurer respectively. The meeting was attended by a large number of Govt. employees working in and around Kadamtala area.
Several resolutions of govt.employees & other local issues adopted in th meeting include (i) Allotment of land by A & N Administration for opening of a State Bank branch at Kadamtala (ii) Upgradation of PHC to CHC and improvement in medical facilities (iii) Master plan for Kadamtala etc. The members hailed the efforts of the Association for its success in issue of Grant of ISDA to teachers during summer vacation also.
