Port Blair, Feb 13: A sensitization programme on National Productivity Week (NPW) under the theme “Form waste to profits through Reduce, Recycle and Reuse” was conducted today for the staff of the Institute at Dr. T.R. Dutta Conference of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. A. Kundu, Incharge Director informed about the importance of the National Productivity week celebration, which has to be adopted in all sphere of work pertaining to human, product, technology so that the overall productivity is reflected both in terms of quantity and quality. He requested KVKs, respective farms and the Division to conduct the programme during the week for the benefit of the stakeholders.
Dr. A.K. De, Scientist and Co-coordinator through power point presentation sensitized the participants on the special theme on the year and numerous activities to be taken up in spreading the message of the productivity. Dr. P.K. Singh, Pr. Scientist, Dr. A.K. Singh, Sr. Scientist, Dr. N.C. Choudhuri, ACTO, KVK Dr. M.S. Kundu, Pr. Scientist and Dr. V. Damodaran, ACTO and Farm Manager, Sippighat Farm deliberated on the theme which was very much appreciated.
Dr. S.K. Zamir Ahmed, Pr. Scientist and Coordinator (NPW-2017) at the outset gave a brief outline on the theme and suggested for adopting modern methods, appropriate technologies, better materials, minimizing waste to ensure delivery of high end product. He also proposed vote of thanks in the end.
