Port Blair, Feb 06: An awareness programme on Digital Payments was conducted on 4th February, 2016 by ICAR- CIARI, at Dr N.T. Singh, Conference hall, Garacharma. The basic purpose was to sensitize the staff on the latest trends in digital payment for its effective utilization launched towards Digital India.
Dr M.S.Kundu, Head of the Office, gave a brief outline on the transformation made in digitalizing the payment process across the years. He urged everyone to get the benefit and exercise the knowledge gain.
Mr. Dibakar Khan, STA of the institute gave a power point presentation on the digital payments inclusive of its do and dont’s which was very much appreciated by the staff.
Mr. Suman Das and Aritra Mitra, the officials of the State Bank of India, Garacharma, dwelt in length on the topics and also cleared the doubts in the mind of the staff participating . They requested everyone to go for internet banking which will ease the process of transaction at any point of time. They also cautioned about the fraudulent callers and use of unknown sites by the staff which is not safe.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr A. Kundu, Director Incharge, expressed his happiness over the conduct of the awareness on digital payments and thereafter asked to conduct a hands onprogramme with SBI officials. He also informed that CIARI office is making all effort in encouragingcashless transaction.
Dr. S.K.Zamir Ahmed, Principal Scientist & Coordinator of the programme, at the outset welcomed all the guests and in his vote of thanks, requested the staff to spread the message of digital payments which also marks the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, to the other members in the peer groups and make the Digital payment a great success.
