Port Blair, Feb 03: Kala Kendra Society is making special efforts to promote the art works of the island artists. Theme based Painting & Photographic Exhibitions have been organized by Kala Kendra with the support of local artists from time to time .A National Art Workshop was also organized in collaboration with Lalit Kala Academy in September 2016 wherein painters from mainland as well as the local painters participated.
About 15 paintings of the workshop are currently on display in the Art Gallery and Studio at Gandhi Park and are also available for sale. Interested buyers/patrons and art connoisseurs can visit the Art Gallery and Studio from 5th -17th February 2017 from 4 pm to 7pm to witness the exhibition and purchase the paintings on display for sale. The sale will go to the Kala Kendra Society under Department of Art & Culture for promotion of art and culture in the islands.
