Port Blair, Jan 16: A fatal accident inside Jarawa Reserve area after Jirkatang Check post today killed one Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Teacher while another teacher sustained grievous injuries.
As per details altogether five Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Teachers were reportedly going towards Diglipur in a SUV, which reportedly went off the road after crossing nearly 8 km from Jirkatang Check Post at around 2.45 pm. all other teachers and the driver of the car reportedly suffered injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Mitali Biswas, SSCT, posted at Diglipur. All the teachers had reportedly come to Port Blair to submit letters on Job related issues.
Meanwhile injured teachers alleged that they reached G B Pant nearly at 5.00 pm but till 8.30 pm they were not attended properly by doctors. Only after pressure of relatives the seriously injured teacher, Mr. Ruben Chander Das was taken inside ICU.
The driver has reportedly said that suddenly a deer came at the middle of the ATR and while saving the Deer he lost the control over the vehicle.
A case has been registered in the Bambooflat Police Station, it is learnt. Further details are awaited.
