Port Blair, Dec 16: During Vardah cyclone, the tiny Regional News Unit (RNU) of All India Radio, Port Blair showed tremendous efforts to connect even remotest corner of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and also the entire country, with all possible updates about the cyclone.
The RNU unit, headed by one Senior News Reader gave hourly updates about cyclone Vardah to listeners both in local as well as in National level.
It is learnt that the RNU unit also provided updates to DD News on regular basis.
The RNU unit, headed by Mr. Rakesh Chandra Lal Senior News Reader told Andaman Sheekha that such updates were not possible without the help of casual staffs of RNU, Port Blair, Engineers and other staffs of AIR Port Blair.
