Port Blair, Dec 12: The Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman alongwith the Adhyaksh, North & Middle Andaman, Block Development Officer, Assistant Director (Agri.), Assistant Director (Fisheries), Senior Veterinary Officer & Tehsildar of Mayabunder sub-division visited the areas affected by the recent cyclone “VARDAH” and interacted with the affected people.
They visited all the affected paddy crops, arecanut plantations, houses of Harinagar, Pinakinagar, Dukenagar, Shantipur, Swadeshnagar villages alongwith the respective Pradhans and Ward Members. During the visit the DC(N&MA) met with the Assessment Team and directed them to strictly assess the damages caused. He assured the victims that compensation of the damages caused will be disbursed at the earliest and urged them to cooperate with Assessment Teamand furnish the details of actual damages caused.Adhyaksh and PRI members requested that the compensation should be paid by the Administration at the earliest.
