Port Blair, Dec 05: The Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs has implemented ePDS in South Andaman District w.e.f. 1st October, 2016 to bring-in transparency and efficiency in Public Distribution System.
With the implementation of ePDS, ration card related services are delivered through Common Service Centers (CSCs) where service requests are submitted digitally. For ration card related services, the citizen is required to approach CSCs with original Certificates/documents as mandated for each service which will be digitally uploaded by the CSC Operators. From now onwards, forms are not required to be filled up for seeking services through CSCs. Besides, the department is also planning to extend services through PDS Portal dcsca.andaman.gov.in
The citizens will get SMS alerts on the registered mobile number to update the status of application submitted by the applicant. On approval of service request the citizen has to approach the Help Desk Counter of the Directorate of CS&CA for updating their existing Smart Ration Card or collecting new ration cards.
