The 6th Day Celebration of the 63rd All India Cooperative Week Celebration was inaugurated on 19th Nov, 2016 at Community Hall, Manpur by Smti. Rashmi Singh, IAS, Secretary (Social Welfare & Industries) as Chief Guest in presence of Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A&N State Coop. Union. The programme was also attended by Shri. S. Raju, DRCS, (HQ), Shri. Subir Chander, Zilla parishad member, Shri. Mahadev Majhi, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Collinpur, Shri. Bikas Biswas, Panchayat Samiti Member, Collinpur Smti. Ratan Kumari, Pancayat Samiti Member, Tushnabad, Dr. Nagesh Ram, Sr. Scientist, KVK, Sippighat, Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, A&N State Coop. Bank, Shri. Abdul Rasheed, ARCS, Shri. V.S. Anil Kumar, ARCS, Shri. Kanchan Toppo, ARCS, Smt. Bonomala Adhikari, CDPO, Ferrargunj, Representatives of various Apex Level Cooperative, Govt officials, PRI members and a large gathering of people of Manpur.
Welcoming all the delegates, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A & N State Coop. Union informed that today is the 6th day function of the ongoing week long 63rd All India Cooperative Week celebration. Every year the Cooperative week is celebrated form 14th – 20th Nov, 2016 along with India to spread the awareness of cooperative movement. Every year, NCUI undertake 7 different subject on the latest topics for the celebration of All India Coop. Week. The topic for today is empowerment of youth, women and weaker section section. He further appreciated the initiative of Smti Rashmi Singh for her noble cause in the commencement of Andaman Bazzar at ITF ground. He also opined that various scheme of Social Welfare Dept. needs to be undertaken by the people to improve their social and economic conditions.
Shri. Abdul Rasheed, ARCS spoke on the topic “Empowerment of Youth, Women & Weaker section through Cooperatives” with the motive to spread the message of cooperative across the Island. He further urge the people present on the occasion to make SHGs, which is pre primary school for group formation. He also added that all the unemployed youths should
take advantage of the various training skills development institutes like ITI, A&N State Coop. Union, Industries Dept. which impart series of training for the participants. He also urge the people to get themselves trained in various courses offered by A&N State Coop. union like training and fashion designing, Beautician, Computer courses etc.
Dr. Nagesh Ram, Sr.Scientist, KVK explained various schemes offered by the Dept. for the youth and womens. He also requested the people to form SHGs and avail financial assistance from Cooperative Bank to improve their economic condition. He also requested to the people and the villagers to come forward and join crab culture & Mushroom culture training programme which shall commence at KVK very shortly. He also requested to youths to form farmers producers organization.
Shri. Mahadev Majhi, Pradhan, Collinpur informed that there are 22-30 Coop. Societies in each and every village. He further requested Chairman, A&N State Coop. Union for the enlistment of these construction coop. societies for construction work at panchayat level. He further requested the chief Guest to provide more facilities at Anganwadi Centers.
Shri. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, A&N State Coop. Bank informed that the bank is rendering its financial services through 41 crore banking branches across the islands. He further added that the bank has contribute over 60% in PMEGP loan and a total of over 4,000 SHGs are presently associated with the Bank. He reminded that the first SHG of A&N Islands is formed in the year 1992 at collinpur. He further requested and urge all the people to come forward and make good use of all the schemes of the bank.
Shri. Subir Chander, Zilla prarishad member also spoke on the occasion. He enlightened and requested all the people to form SHGs and cooperative societies to get themselves trained for by products of coconut handicraft, aercanut etc. He also requested the Chief Guest to initiate and create hub for the sale and marketing of their products at tushnabad junction.
In her key note address Smti. Rashmi Singh, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare appreciated the week long celebration of 63 rd All India Cooperative Week . She further urged the youth to come forward and get themselves involved in value addition of diary products and coconuts. She cited the example of AMUL, lizzat papad she also urged the people to aim high and strive hard for their goal which is a team effort. She further added that their is a huge demand of virgin coconut oil, Noni fruits, tuna fish, honey, mushroom culture which the women can explore for the better living. She also informed that the spirit of cooperative should ignite and empower all the people of the society. She quoted “Empower ourselves Empower people”. She also requested the people present on the occasion to share their mutual understanding and form SHGs and JLGs, which shall be backborn for all opportunities. She also added there is no single solution for any problem, people should work as change makers and catalyst to help people as hand holding support for their empowerment. She also informed that once the undersea cable works of Andaman &Nicobar Islands is completed, the Cooperative societies and SHGs can make use of the entire mainland for the sale of their finish goods through internet(e commerce). At the end she urge cooperative societies to innovate themselves and make quality goods which shall cater to the growing demand of the market.
