Port Blair, Nov 18: In continuation of the process to set an paradigm towards zero tolerance towards Encroachment on Government land and to restore valuable Govt. land under Port Blair Tehsil, the Encroachment Eviction Team of Revenue Department has taken another step towards protection of Government land in Port Blair Tehsil.
Accordingly an eviction Drive was conducted in Port Blair Tehsil by the Encroachment Eviction Team on 17th & 18th November 2016 in the villages of Garacharma, Prothrapur & Teylorabad wherein 49 nos of unauthorized structures in the shape of 40 petty shops, 08 Nos. Hutments and 01 semi – permanent structure from the road sides and Govt. revenue land have been evicted.
Machineries like excavator and trucks were used by the eviction team led by Tehsildar, Port Blair comprising of Revenue Inspector, Area Patwaris and Police officials during the eviction drive.
General public is hereby cautioned to refrain from such unauthorized activities and encroachments, including buying and selling encroached land. In case of any violation found, stringent action will be taken. In case any of fresh encroachments are noticed, the general public can inform the District Control Room on toll free no.1070.
