Port Blair, Nov 18: Keeping strict vigil all over the city a team of CID and CCS on a tip off, raided a house of Aashiq Ali, S/o Late Hasmat Ali a private worker by profession and a resident of Dudhline Kheti, Shadipur this afternoon at around 12:30pm and found huge quantity of Semi Sawn Plunks (Paduak timber) and logs lying in his Areca nut Plantation.
When the team of CCS and CID unit asked Aashiq Ali to produce the TP and other related documents he failed to do so, after which the team seized all the logs and Semi Sawn Paduak timber and handed it over to the Forest Officials for further course of action. The Paduak Sawn Timber as well as the logs expected to be of worth Rs 1,75,000.
The raid was conducted by a team of Inspector Hari Narayan, SHO PS CCS along with Inspector D Jagdishwar Rao, SBI, CID, Sub Inspector Deepak Mukherjee, CID, HC T Uday Kumar, PC Sarfudeen, PC G Ravi, HC Nakul Halder and HC Bhupinder Singh.
