Port Blair, Nov 17: Living on the Edge (LOTE), an NGO, has urged the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to direct concerned officials to open the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall of Kanyapuram, which is already ready after completion of all construction works.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Mr. Abhay Kumar, the President of LOTE mentioned that following public demand, development of indoor sports and in search for talented sports personalities of the Ferrargunj Tehsil area the construction work for the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall at Kanyapuram, Wimberlygunj was started on 11/02/2015 and was supposed to be completed by 10/12/215 as mentioned in the Project details display board.
“The project has already crossed the stipulated time and its almost taken double the estimated time. The members of our NGO have personally visited the project of Multipurpose indoor Sports Hall and found that the contractor has already completed its work long ago but due to unknown reason the well finished Hall is yet to be officially declared open. As there is a great enthusiasm among the sports loving personalities and they are eagerly waiting for the august day when this state of art Multipurpose Indoor Sports Stadium will be dedicated for the public,” he said.
