Port Blair, Nov. 08 : The Lt. Governor, A & N Islands, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi felicitated Kumari G Jenisha, a class VIII student of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair at a felicitation function held at Raj Niwas here today. Kumari Jenisha secured 3rd position in the Painting Competition of the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Management, held in New Delhi recently. The Lt. Governor handed over a Commendation Certificate and a cheque of Rs.25, 000/- to Kumari Jenisha during the felicitation ceremony.
Congratulating Jenisha for the achievement, the Lt. Governor advised her to keep up the spirit and to participate in all kinds of painting competitions at state as well as national level. “The islanders are proud of you. You have the talent and can achieve success even at international level. You have the support of all well wishers, including parents and teachers”, he said and wished her all success in her future life.
The Principal Secretary (Edn.), Shri Raajiv Yaduvanshi, Secretary to Lt. Governor, Smt. Rashmi Singh, Secretary (Education) Smt. R Menaka, Director Disaster Management, Shri Guru Kripal Singh, and the parents of the awardee were present on the occasion.
