Port Blair, Nov 02: The Minister of State (I/C) MoEF&CC, Dr Anil Madhav Dave has accorded approval for the CRZ Clearance of proposed Bridge on Humphrey Strait Creek on NH-223 today. The approval is required for awarding the construction work of Bridge on Humphrey Strait Creek. The tender is already floated for this work and there is likelihood to open the tender proposals on 16.11.2016 as per information received by MD, NHIDCL. The tender closing dates have been extended many times due to non-availability of CRZ Clearance. Forest Clearance was obtained in July, 2016.
Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of A&N Islands personally took interest and even met the Minister of MoEF &CC for expediting this work. Dr MM Kutty, Additional Secretary, MoEF&CC has played very active and supportive role in this regard.
It is to be mentioned here that officials of Forest Department, UT Administration, Engineers of APWD, Secretary, PWD, Chief Secretary, Andaman have been pursuing for this work for more than 5 years.
Hon’ble MP has been working on this issue and has met all concerned to get the desired result.
