Port Blair, Nov 01: The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” (National Unity Day) was observed by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair on Monday in association with St.Joshep Youth Club at Ferrargunj. Mr Jeyaraj, Principal Donbosco was the chief guest on the occasion and paid floral tribute on the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and administered the pledge on “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”. He stressed that unity is strength of our nation and we should communicate the message to specially youth that this occasion provides us an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country. Mr Kundan Lal, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair welcomed the gathering.
A Knockout Foot Ball Tournament under the Block level Inter Sports Meet is being organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair in collaboration with Yuva Sangh Youth Club, Wimberlygunj on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to observe “Rashtriya Ekta Saptah” from 31st October to 6th November, 2016. The Knockout Foot Ball Tournament was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mr Manickam, Paradhan, Wimberlygunj and Mr PK Abdul Aziz, Up-Pradhan, Wimberlygunj on Monday at Mini Stadium, Wimberlygunj. Altogether, 14 teams are participating in the tournament. The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge was administrated by the guest of honour to the all players.
