Port Blair, Oct 31: Death of a construction worker has triggered a protest at G B Pant Hospital this morning. According to reports available here family members of the deceased, Sheikh Majdabool, 34 years, were unhappy with the development of the case and delay in action against the people, responsible for the death.
Sheikh Majdabool, died at the GB Pant Hospital this morning.
As per the protesting people, Late Sheikh Majdabool was allegedly attacked by the Contractor under whom he was working with and till now the Police has not taken any action against the Culprit.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the family members of the victim said that he left from the home yesterday evening at around 07:30pm saying that he is going to take his due payment from the contractor, he is working with. Family members of Late Majdabool believe that it was a murder and the Majdabool was attacked by the Contractors when he asked for his dues.
They further alleged that when they spoke to Sheikh Majdabool at the GB Pant Hospital, he had confirmed them that he was attacked by the Contractor at Corbyn Cove with 2-3 other people with them.
However as per reliable sources, Late Sheikh Majdabool was under influence of liquor and was riding a moped. He was also found lying near his moped which indicates this might be an incident of road accident.
Andaman Sheekha learnt that the family members and nearer ones of Sheikh Majdabool have also attacked the Hotel of the Contractor, situated at Dairyfarm for which the Aberdeen police has arrested two persons.
As per sources it is also learnt that most of the family members of Sheikh Majdabool are history-sheeters and there are numerous cases registered against them.
However, sources said that till now Aberdeen Police has only registered an FIR. Hopefully police will take this case to a logical conclusion and find out the facts in this case.
