Port Blair, Oct 31: The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman visited Mithakhari Village along with Mr Mohd. Safique Pradhan, Mr Sanjib Mondal Zilla Parishad Member, Smt. Suhara Bibi, Samiti Member, Smt. Francis Ekka Up- Pradhan, Mr V.K. Salam, Choudhary and PRIs to inspect the ongoing as well as the proposed development works. The Deputy Commissioner inspected the teak plantation near Tushnabad junction wherein the PRIs desired to set up parking space, Shopping complex , toilets etc. for revenue generation and public use. The DC visited forest colony and inspected the proposed youth club and he assured that the matter shall be take up with Forest Department. The road of a stretch of 920 Mtrs from existing Alvis Tikrey to MES school constructing under MGNREGA was also inspected along with CC footpath constructing by the Panchayat at Muslim Basti. The Anganwadi and the graveyard was also inspected by the Dy. Commissioner. The Pradhan requested to set apart the land availble at Tushnabad Junction behind the forest Range Office for construction of multipurpose indoor stadium and also for the graveyard for Hindu community at Orgrabraj village at Ward No.3. The Dy. Commissioner paid visit to the site of Shri P. K. Moidu residence of Ograbraj in Ward No.4 wherein it was reported of often flooding from the nearby nallah during heavy rain. Besides the above, the Dy. Commissioner visited Mithakahri village and inspected the progress of works for rennovation of Community Hall and Anganwadi and informed that the stay order shall be revised for early start of works. and also inspected the proposed land for construction of market complex etc. The Dy. Commissioner also inspected the dilapidated condition of the Primary School, Mithakahri and decided to take up the issue of early restart of the pending work of consturction of new block of Primary School and the filling up of earth.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the Pradhan, Zilla Parishad Member , Samiti and PRIs that a joint meeting with the PRIs & Forest department has been kept on 03.11.2016 at 1600 hrs to resolve all the forest issues. The DC further made a visit to the PHC Tushnabad wherein it was assured that the matter regarding the requirement of labor ward will be taken up with the Health Department and with regard to additional amblance is concerned, it was informed that possiblity will be explored to made avilable an ambulance from MPLAD. To set apart of lands for community halls and graveyard is concerned immediate action will be taken accordingly.
