Port Blair, Oct 26: In the Advocate Assault matter, the members of the BAR Association today met the Chief Secretary Andaman & Nicobar Islands and requested the CS to direct the Police Department to expedite the investigation and apprehend the culprit as soon as possible.
The Association also requested the CS to direct the Police Department to constitute a special team for fast progress in the case.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, member of BAR Association, Advocate Rakesh Pal Govind said that on our demand for a special team has already being fulfilled as a team has now been constituted under the overall supervision of DySP Ajay Kumar Rai this afternoon and the association is going to conduct a meeting tomorrow morning after which some important decisions will be taken.
An advocate namely Mr Alokesh Sarkar was allegedly attacked with a Machete by 3-4 masked men at his home on 24th October night and the Aberdeen Police Station has already registered a case in this regard.
