Port Blair, Oct 25: As per the telephonic communication received from P.K. Palit MO/ I/c PHC Havelock that one 28 day old infant namely Sayan Mondal was in critical condition due to respiratory distress and in need of emergency evacuation. Simultaneously another patient namely Ashutosh Goldar with renal compromise state was also to be evacuated. Following evacuation request, the Pawan Hans helicopter was put into service for evacuation of patient on Oct 24 in the morning hours. Patients were were evacuated in record time with Dr Karthik Raja, Paediatrician who escorted the patients to Port Blair. The child has been diagnosed as Bronchopneumonia with broncholitis with respiratory distress. He is recuperating in the SNCU of G.B. Pant hospital. Mr Ashutosh is also admitted at G.B. Pant hospital and recovering quickly. The operation was coordinated by Mr Ravi Chandran, DD(CA), Port Blair.
