Port Blair, Oct 18: The Chairperson, A&N State Social Welfare Board (ANSSWB), Dr. (Smt.) Poonam Arora met the functionaries of Mahila Mandals/ NGOs on Monday in the conference hall of A&N State Social Welfare Board here. Functionaries of the aided/un-aided institutions from, Port Blair, different places in South Andaman, Havelock, Rangat, Mayabunder attended the meeting. The terms and conditions of the revised Rajiv Gandhi National Creche scheme were also discussed in detail during the meeting and Dr. Poonam Arora assured that their points will be placed in the Central Social Welfare Board. The Chairperson also made it clear that the Mahila Mandal is not only for running the crèche activities but it is an organization from where the functionaries can run different kinds of activities for the welfare of the society taking the schemes from Govt. of India and UT Administration All the functionaries expressed gratitude to the Chairperson for holding the interaction.
