Kurmachad Dinghy Tragedy
Port Blair, May 30: Andaman and Nicobar Police today recovered two more dead bodies of Kurmachad Dinghy Tragedy victims from Kurmachad coastal area. Altogether 10 bodies (03 male & 07 children) have been recovered till now while one person is still missing. According to police the disaster took place on 28/05/2012 at around 11.00 am, when 15 people were going for picnic and their dinghy capsized due to high waves.
Meanwhile, a case vide Crime No. 12/12 dated 29/05/2012 U/s 280/304(A) IPC was registered at PS Kalighat.
Police have requested the general public and fishermen not to venture into sea during inclement weather and not to carry persons in excess of the carrying capacity of the dinghy.
