Port Blair, Sept 30: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Humane Touch, a voluntary organization is going to organize a mass rally for a Liquor Free Andamans on 1st October 2016 at 3.00 pm from ITF Ground to Tiranga Park. This rally is organized as a part of its Swachh Samaaj Abhiyaan, to create awareness about alcoholism and resolve to fulfil the drema of the Father of the Nation to make our country free of this social evil.
The rally will be a platform for the Islanders to express their solidarity against this social scourge, which is gradually eating into the vitals of the society and create a favourable public opinion for moving towards complete prohibition and also demand the Andaman and Nicobar Administration to seriously contemplate on the rising trend of alcoholism in the Islands.
While appreciating the recent move by the South Andaman District Administration against bars violating the terms and conditions of the Excise Policy, Humane Touch feels that the Administration needs to look beyond the violations of the Excise Policy and also seriously consider the socio-economic impact of alcoholism on the Islanders and move towards complete prohibition and create a congenial and safe environment for the coming generations.
Humane Touch also appeals all like-minded individuals and organizations irrespective of all differences to join the rally and express their solidarity with the goal of making the Islands liquor free.

ADVISORY FOR THE RALLY
1. Rain is not going to dampen our spirits. Kindly carry your umbrellas and raincoats.
2. Arrangement will be made for parking of two-wheelers and four wheelers at ITF ground. Kindly avoid parking vehicles on the roadside for hassle free traffic movement.
3. Rally will sharply start at 3.00 PM. Kindly make it convenient to reach the venue before time.
4. Route of the rally – ITF Grounds, Junglighat, Goal Ghar, Middle Point, Clock Tower, Ganesh Temple, Tiranga Park
5. Drinking water shall be arranged at three points – Goal Ghar, Middle Point and Tiranga Park.
6. Kindly utilize the services provided by the volunteers to dispose off empty water bottles and not litter on the route of the rally.
7. Kindly move in line without creating inconvenience or hindering traffic movement.
8. The rally will conclude with a brief meeting of 30 minutes at Tiranga Park.
9. Request to cooperate with the organizers for peaceful conduct of the rally.
