Port Blair, Sept 25: “Living On The Edge – (LOTE)”, an NGO , has expressed gratitude to the Lt. Governor. Shri. Jagdish Mukhi, for his immediate response to our letter No .AN/LOTE/2016-17/14 dated 13/9/2016, on the subject of total Ban on Tobacco & its by products in the entire Andaman Nicobar Islands.
“We would also like to convey our sincere thanks to Shri. B. P. Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, of these islands and Shri. Anindo Prakash, the Chief Secretary, A & N administration for taking swift and positive action in this regard at their end. LOTE would like to communicate its gratitude to the print media for positive exposure you gave to the letter on the local news segment provided and educated the community with an introduction to our goals and services,” Mr. Vaibhav Singh, Coordinator of LOTE in a press release.
The LOTE also congratulated the Commissioner, Foods Safety, Andaman & Nicobar Islands for initiating such a bold and effective step of implementing the Tobacco Ban in entire A & N Is.w.e.f.02/10/2016.
“With the firm belief that, enforcement agencies will work to their best for the utmost implementation of this Tobacco Ban under the Commissioner, Foods Safety. Hope this BAN result in an effective and positive way to the general public of these islands. Let’s all hope for a “TOBACCO FREE ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS,” the release of LOTE added.
