Port Blair, Sept 23: The Nehru Yuva Kendra here organized “Block Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament” under the scheme of National Young Leaders Programme (NYLP) in association with Pragati Social & Cultural Organization, Austinabad and Youth Club and Yuvati Mandals of Prothrapur Block on Friday in the Community Hall, Dairy Farm, Port Blair. Mr CH. Babu, Councilor, Ward No.15 PBMC was the chief guest while Smt Anusia Devi, Councillor, Ward No.9, PBMC was the guest of honor on the occasion.
The Neighbourhood Youth Parliament generated awareness about Adarsh Gaon, National Flagship Programmes, Skill Training Programmes, Model of Youth Leadership & Empowerment, Other issues or concerns of youth and local communities they wish to take up like Education, Health, Family Welfare and Nutrition, Sanitation and Cleanliness, social Issues, Environment Conservation, women Empowerment, Rural Development and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Volunteerism, Good Governance and Civic Education. In Mr Kothandabani, Manger, NABARD, Port Blair, Mr Jawaharlal Das, Economic Investigator, District Industries Centre, Mr Neeraj Kumar Vaidya, National Youth Awardee, Port Blair, Mr Dilip Dixit, Senior Compiler, Directorate of Census Operations, A & N Islands and Smt Reenu Gour, Secretary, Pragati Social & Cultural Organization, Austinabad spoke on the subjects. Mr Kundan Lal, District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair explained about the scheme of National Young Leaders Programme (NYLP) and its importance.
