Port Blair, Sept 16: Good news for the Islanders, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has accorded administrative approval for five bridges with an estimate amounting to Rs.11.22 crores to be taken up under CRF for connectivity to the villagers in various part of A & N Islands by APWD.
The bridges are, bridge over the Nallah at Paresh Nagar, Ward No.2 between Laxman Paul House at Haradan Pillai house under Basantipur Panchayat; Bridge over the Nallah for connectivity from ATR to Badamanallah Dera, Ward No.2 under Basanti Panchayat; Bridge over the Nallah at Ward No.6 between Nani Karmakar and Ramchander Roy’s house at Harinagar Panchayat and Two bridges over the Nallah in Panchawati Ward No.2 at Shivapuram Panchayat, Rangat.
In pursuant to that, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament through this press note further requested the Chief Engineer, APWD to take immediate necessary action for completing the other codal formalities like tender process, awarding the said works so that the work will be started without further delay.
The Member of Parliament has expressed his heartiest gratitude to Shri Nithin Gadkari, the Minister of Road, Transport & Highways for according administrative approval of 5nos. bridges, which was pending since long.
