Port Blair, Jan 12: On the auspicious occasion of 150th Birthday Celebration of Swami Vivekananda, a programme was organized as Kartavya Bodh Diwas by the Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh in the Seminar Gallery of TGCE. Mr. Jalaj Shrivastava, IAS, Principal Secretary, A & N Administration was the Chief Guest. Speaking in the seminar the speakers highlighted the life history, philosophy and contribution of Swami Vivekananda Ji, towards humanity. Mr. Francis Xavier, HOD, English Dept., JNRM, Dr. (Mrs.) Manju Nair, Associate Prof., Dept. of Geography, JNRM Ms. Sunaina Suresh, U.G.Ed Trainee Mr. Manoj Kumar Yadav, B.Ed Trainee and Dr. J.D.Singh, Principal, TGCE were the main speakers of the seminar.
In his welcome address Mr. K.N.Suresh, Convener of Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh highlighted the aims & objectives and informed that the RSM shall be conducting regular seminar, workshop, debates etc. to improve quality of Education for the welfare of the student community.
Chief Guest, Mr. Jalaj Shrivastava highlighted some very important aspects of the life of Swami Ji and said that in these Islands also Rashtriya Yuva Diwas is being celebrated to give inspiration to the youth. He advised the audience to adopt and follow the values of character building and humility in their own life. He stressed the importance of quest for knowledge which was one of the main mottos of Vivekananda Ji. Dr. R.K.Tiwari, Asst. Professor delivered the vote of thanks. All the trainees, staff of TGCE and some faculty from JNRM & BRAIT participated in the seminar.
