Port Blair, September 11: The Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration has reportedly assured immediate action to the representatives of the farmers’ association of Campbell Bay.
The State Vice President of Bhartiya Janta Party, Mr Sanjay Singh today met the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Islands to request remedial measures from the side of administration for the demands kept by the Farmers’ Association Campbell Bay.
The farmers are on a relay hunger strike from 5th September demanding Minimum Support Price for copra.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr Sanjay Singh said that he met the CS on Saturday where he was assured by the CS that a team constituting of Secretary RCS, Mr Ramesh Verma, Superintendent of Police and DC Car Nicobar and an Assistant Secretary will visit Campbell Bay to resolve the matter and to fulfill the demands of the Farmers’ Association Campbell Bay immediately.
“We have full faith on CS that he would resolve the problems of farmers at Campbell Bay,” Mr. Singh added.
