Port Blair, Sept 11: The Indian Meteorological Department, Kolkata has forecast heavy rain (07-11 cm) at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the next 24 hours. Under the influence of strong Southwest Monsoon current, strong Southwesterly wind speed between 25 and 35 kmph gusting to 45 kmph and generally rough seas are likely along and off Andaman and Nicobar coasts. Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea. The general public have been advised to take precautionary measures and contact the State Control Room, District Control Room and Emergency Operation Centres in case of any emergency.
