Port Blair, Sept 07: Community Food & Nutrition Unit, Port Blair in coordination with ICDS Ferrargunj project organised a workshop on the theme “ Life cycle approach for better nutrition” at Hasmatabad Community hall.
On this occasion Smti. Minati Biswas, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman was the Chief Guest.
She urged the participants that nutrition is an issue of Health and Survival for current and succeeding generation. The success largely depends on collective initiative participation of masses.
Speaking on the occasion resource person Dr. Abhirami scientist horticulture CARI spoke about fruit and vegetables source of powerful nutrients of nature.
Dr. Pooja Kapoor subject matter specialist KVK spoke about policies and programs for prevention of malnutrition in Andaman & Nicobar .
Earlier Smt. Suma Sreedharan demonstration officer of CFNEU Port Blair elaborated on the importance of age appropriate nutrition during all stages of life cycles. The program was attended by 70 participants.
