Port Blair, Sept 6: On 02 September, 2016, while travelling through Junglighat towards Aberdeen Bazaar at the time of closure of schools, Smt Kiran Tigga, the Officiating Chairperson and Smt R. Geetha Raj, Member of A&N UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights, observed that some minor students of Junglighat and Model School were over speeding their two wheelers without wearing helmets in the crowded road. In another incident, they also happened to see that some students sitting on the railing of high KV transformer placed near the Model School and some were playing very near to the transformer. They also observed that one Auto Rickshaw and one Omni, was over crowded with students of Model School.
The Officiating Chairperson, A&N UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights has appealed to all the parents of these Islands to ensure the safety and security of their wards.
