Port Blair, Sept 01:A meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) on 01/09/2016 (Thursday) for preparedness and law and order arrangements for Ganesh Puja celebrations- 2016 in South Andaman District, which is commencing from 5th September, 2016. The President/Secretaries of Ganesh Puja committee, SP (SA) and line departments were present.
The organizers were informed about the prevalent norms and guidelines with regard to fire safety, traffic arrangements, law and order clearances, electricity and cleanliness. They were directed to maintain peace and harmony and function strictly as per norms and only after receiving due permissions. Organizers agreed to comply with these directions.
Organizers/participants were also directed to comply with Hon’ble National Green Tribunal “ Guidelines for Idol immersion”, issued by CPCB, New Delhi, published as public notice in The Daily Telegrams dated 1.09.2016.
It was decided that a Facilitation Counter/help desk under the supervision SDM(SA) will be set up in District Control Room for all relevant permissions on 2nd September & 3rd September, 2016 (Friday & Saturday) where representatives of different line department will be present as mentioned below:-
