Port Blair, Aug 31: On 28.08.2016, a family residing in Bambooflat jurisdiction was returning in their Auto after fishing and suddenly the Auto rickshaw fell into the sea at Andabeda village at around 1050 PM. Immediately South Andaman Police, Fire & PMF personnel responded to the situation alongwith senior officers and rescued the Auto driver, his elder Son (7 yrs old), two relatives with the help of Imtiyaz Ali (Police Constable) and local youths Razak and Irshad. In the accident, however, in spite of efforts, the wife of Auto Rikshaw Smt K. Fausiah, aged 30 yrs and his son Mohd. Jishad 2 1/2 year old son could not be saved and their bodies have been recovered.
In this connection a case vide FIR No. 107/16 dated 29/08/2016 U/s 279/304(A) IPC has also been registered at PS Bambooflat and the investigation of the case is in progress.
