Port Bair, Aug 30: Shri Subir Chander, Up-Adhyaksh, South Andaman along with Shri Gagandeep Singh Grewal, Zilla Parishad Member, Campbell Bay met the General Manager, BSNL to address the issues of call dropping of BSNL at Great Nicobar.
Shri Gagandeep Singh Grewal, Zilla Parishad Member stressed the need of the time to set up few new BSNL tower at Great Nicobar to sort out the issue of BSNL connectivity as well as requested the General Manager to send a technical team to Great Nicobar to assess the situation.
The General Manager, BSNL has assured that the call dropping issues will be addressed promptly and necessary action will be taken accordingly.
With regard to setting up of new tower, it was also assured that two new towers will be set one at Shastri Nagar and one at Campbell Bay Jetty at the earliest and team from BSNL will visit Great Nicobar to take appropriate action.
