Port Blair, Aug 29: Two special camps were organized, on last two Sundays i.e. 21st & 28th August, 2016, for collection of pending dues of water charges. A special counter for collection of water dues is also being set up on 30th & 31st August, 2016 at Bathubasti, Labour Club (near Petrol Bunk) for collection of water charges between 9.00 am to 1.00 pm for Ward Nos. 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 & 24.
Though a large number of consumers had cleared their water dues, yet a good number of consumers did not pay the same. As specifically notified in the public notices, issues in various newspapers, the last date to clear the water dues is 31st August, 2016. From 1st September, 2016 onwards, the Port Blair Municipal Council will start dis-connecting the water supply to those consumers who fail to clear their water dues by 31st August, 2016.
