Port Blair, Aug 28: A guest lecture by Smt Rubina Siddiqui, member of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights (A&N UTCPCR) was conducted under the aegis of Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA) at CGISC, Haddo. The event was attended by more than 100 members of CGWWA who enthusiastically queried the speaker on multifaceted issues of Child Rights. The speaker elucidated upon the rights of a child from the very inception of the foetus, ante natal age to adulthood. Smt Rubina Siddiqui deliberated upon good parenting skills with emphasis on understanding a child, lending ears to their concerns, sharing and spending quality time with the child. Other issues related to overall development of child meriting focused attention included well balanced nutrition, regular physical activity and stress free environment. The CGWWA organisation committee appreciated and expressed gratitude to Smt Rubina Siddiqui for the well presented topic and urged the members to inculcate the basic techniques in upbringing of their children.
