Port Blair, Aug 24: The Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) of Andaman & Nicobar Chapter met recently under the leadership of Indresh Kumar, Margdarshak FANS at Hotel Sea Shell here. The meeting decided to install a 100 ft. National Flag mast at a prominent place as was done in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Arrangements to be made in connection with the ‘Shaheed Swaraj Dweep Samooh Naman Yatra’ to commemorate hoisting of tricolour on 30th December to celebrate the Flag Hoisting done by Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on 30th December, 1943 was also discussed during the meeting.
Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam, All Indian Imam Organization, New Delhi along with 29 Maulavees and Imams participated in the meeting and raised concerns on the recent notification about the rules on slaughter of animals in these Islands. Mr Inderesh Kumar assured to look into the matter and discuss the issue at the appropriate level.
Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam, All Indian Imam Organization, New Delhi and other Maulavees and Imams also resolved that there will be no cow slaughter in these islands. They have further informed that they will participate in the ‘Shaheed, Swaraj Dweep Samooh Naman Yatra’ and requested the local Imams, Maulavees and other Muslim brothers to join the ‘Shaheed, Swaraj Dweep Samooh Naman Yatra’ 2016 to make it a grand event.
FANS is a social organisation to provide character training to its citizen as upholding Indian culture and civilizational values. It gives awareness about the security and relation with neighbouring countries. Various issues pertaining to A&N Islands were discussed in detail.
