Port Blair, Aug 19: To reduce stress and to remove negative thoughts, a programme on “Easy meditation for busy people” was organised for the inmates and the Jail Staff with the support of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris, Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Port Blair at District Jail, Prothrapur on 16.08.2016 at 03.00 p.m. Total 130 inmates alongwith prison staff participated in the programme. The facuilities and Sisters from the vishwa vidyalaya explained the advantage of meditation that it is a great tool for inner development, well being stability, creativity and optimum tapping on one’s potential and thus meditation can greatly contribute to the development of any team. Further, they guided the inmates to practice simple method of meditating to enhance effectiveness. Sisters also tied rakhies to inmates and staff.
Mr B.L. Meena, Superintendent of Prison welcomed the inmates/staff and highlighted the importance of Meditation. He also advised to continue the meditation in their day to day life and he further urged that this in the correct occasion to promise to self to give up the habit of consumption of alcohol, chewing tobacco, pan, smoking and remove negative thoughts.
An hour programme was organized under the overall supervision of Smt Geeta Rani Verma, Inspector General of Prison and supervision of Shri Mohd. Hanif, Jailor and ended with the vote of thanks by Mr O. Mohd, Hanifa, Deputy Jailor.
